Hello Dear Readers,
I am at my mom's house in Abiquiu, watching the ducks on the river. It's been a great holiday with my family. My new baby niece, Zoe Rae, is beautiful and amazing. She is going to grow so much while I am gone, so I'm trying to get as much time with her as possible.
I want to apologize to my young readers, and collaborators, for my writing in my first post. I will keep in mind that this blog is intended to be understood by many people and try keep my language simpler.
For any readers who I have not been speaking to about the purpose of this blog, I will give you a run-down of the plan:
I was rewarded a sizable scholarship to do a project with the little school I'm partnered with for life, La Puerta. The children and I will be communicating by skype for the duration of their school year. The students will follow my blog and photo albums and they will direct our research towards finding cultural and historical connections between their home, Northern New Mexico, and Western Spain. They will ask me questions which I will investigate. I will be documenting the process in this blog.
I strongly encourage comments and heckling of all kinds and in any language. Any one can join in the project.
I want to start turning our minds towards Spain and the town I will be in from February through July, Cáceres, by sharing a series of images that I nabbed from various sites.
